i think they're ugly guys i love the motor but dang ugly.....BUT I guess the ford chevy thing is just contest to build the ugliest truck this year, and still somehow manage to make them look the same as each other

Have you seen one up close, walked around it a few times, and then called it ugly? The base level trucks are not pretty, but the mid level and high level units (Chevy & GMC) are really nice looking up close and in person.

With time the looks will grow on us. Just think in 2003 we all jumped up and down and got mad. I bought a 2003 GMC because I hated the 2003 Chevy's but switched back to Chevy in 2006, because I liked the looks of the 2500HD.

Man, a lot here are never happy about what the general does with the trucks.
Maybe they should just buy a Toyota so we can enjoy our American made trucks! :ro)

Thats the problem. The General is tryin to make our truck look like a toyota/nissan/ford. If we wanted a toyota/nissan/ford then we would buy one. We dont.

As I see it, the General has incorporated several popular things from the most popular truck models on the market. Wow, that's a new concept. Listen to your customer base and give them what they ask for. So crazy it just might work .

I used to think girls were ugly, and built funny.
After spending time with them, and later understanding why they were created the way they are...."form follows function".....not only did I get used to them, but I really learned to like them.

I think they rock, enough so that I plan to buy one in February. I kind of hope it takes a while for people to acquire a taste for them, it may keep the resale higher on my current model, and help keep the prices down on the new models.

I like the body styling on both the GMC and the Chevy. I sure do not like the interior changes, especially not the new dash and center console. I think the dash is just ugly.

I'm not being biased but the Ford interior looks cheap to me. I'm sure it is good for some people but it doesn't do me any justice.

As for the Chevy/GMC interior, It looks great from the pictures as does the exteriors of both trucks.

I'm still liking the way the 1/2 ton pickups look compared to the 3/4 and 1 ton versions. Like people say, I'm sure it will grow on you. Again this is my opinion only.

Anyway, like everyone on here, I'm looking forward to seeing the new trucks next month at the auto show.

The new Ford Super Duty front end looks almost the same as the old Super Duty front end, except that it's sagging badly in its old age and needs a facelift. Ford didn't significantly change the styling of the rest of the truck. The Super Duty grille shown in the poster in the background looks like a prop from a "Mad Max" movie.

The new Ford Super Duty interior looks like a prop for a sci-fi movie set in the 19th century, where some mad genius has modern or even futuristic technology well before it actually existed.

Too bad GM ruined the clean lines of their SUVs on both the new Chevy & GMC pickups. It would have been better to leave at least one (most likely the GMC) more like the SUVs, leaving the Chevy with the "radical, dude" fenders to appeal to the fanboy crowd.

But the GM SUV-style interior is excellent. Too bad you have to go with the top line trim level to get it. The "pure pickup" interior is OK, except for the gauges being crammed into too little space. Maybe the aftermarket will come up with a replacement cluster fascia panel.

They look a whole lot better than the yukons and tahoes! I think I would like them if I saw one in person, they don't look bad from what I have seen, the Chevy is an improvement IMHO.

Cool Man!!!

I agree, with some big tires and wheels these NEW 2007 trucks will Definately look Even BETTER!:ro)

It would be awesome if we could get the guys on this dieselplace website to start a Design contest for modifying the New Body 2007 Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras with aftermarket Suspension lifts kits, different tires, and wheels, and any other cool custom aftermarket parts.
Then we could all vote to who has the best design or photoshop.

They do the design photo contests at GMINSIDENEWS website where they did a design contest for chops on the next retro Chevelle or Chevette for the future. There were some that were photo chopped and others were hand scetched. Some of the photo chops and art work turned out to be VERY cool!

Check it out here:

http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=50

You can see how there are many different desingns of the new chevelles by many of their website members.

The new Suburban also looks Ugly, all the newer GM vehicles are looking ugly. It seems like GM always gets the first 2-3 years of their new styles wrong and then fix them. Just like the 88 models were ugly up until 1996 and then they were good up until the 99's and then that new style got good in 2003. Its all in the Front End. 1988 front end was a$$, 1999 Front end style was A$$, and now the 2008 style is A$$. Maybe in 2010 the new style will look good.

Great job Josh on the photo chop!
You made that 2007 GMC HD truck look sooooo much beefier.

Do you think you can re- do the picture with a little bit bigger of a lift on htat GMC and maybe slighty larger wheels/tires???;)
Thanks man!

Too bad the front tires aren't centered in the wheelwell.
There's a bigger gap in front of the tire than behind the tire.
This isn't a flaw with the photoshop work.
It's apparent in unmodified photos as well.
But as the tire diameter iincreases, the more obvious it becomes.

Just saw a GMC half-ton crew-cab on the lot tonight. Black. I didn't stop to look at it, just saw it as I drove by.

I must say it looked pretty sharp in black, better in person than the pics. It was night though and I'll see it again tomorrow in the daylight to get a better idea.

The exterior of that Chevy could not be more hideous. I mean, come on, I know this is a GM site and you have every right to be proud of the DMAX but WTF? Are they out of their minds? GMC is the ONLY game in town for the DMAX fan in my opinion. The interior looks good though..................

The front end of the 2007 Chevy HD does need some work. There is a bit too much excessive chrome there, thats for sure. If the front was painted, Im sure it would help out ALOT.

The GMC is the definate winner when it comes to looks in comparing the new 2007 HD trucks.

ALthough, the 1500 Chevy Pickups look pretty good in my opinion.
They had some at the Chevy Dealerships I saw today...

HAHA...

Are you serious azzkik? I think you are completely mistaken of which body style has the "Round" look.):h

The older 2006 and 2007 classic GMC body style is the rounded one my friend. ;)

The new 2007 body style is definately more Squared... hardly round buddy.

No I meant body lines. Especially the fender area. Its too rounded. Too much body area that it makes it look like Cheap Sheetmetal. The majority of the truck looks OK. But that chevy front end really looks pathetic. The way the lights come around the corners is ugly.

Drove by this morning at about 10:00, and was able to get a good look at it and I really like the GMC. (haven't seen the chevy yet)

Drove by again at about 1:00 and it was gone. Still wasn't there at 6:30 tonight on my way home........ It was on the back lot and sold.

Took all of about 5 hours to sell it. I guess I'll have to wait until the others arrive to get a closer look.

Just to add my 2 cents in. I don't find the styling appealing to my taste. In my opinion, the Chev & GMC 2500HDs seem to be designed by a group made up from out-of-work stylists of various truck companies. The tail lights seem to resemble Dodge, the front bumper: Nissan Titan, The grilles: Ford etc. I don't see any originality. In the beginning I appreciated my Avalanche because it's styling was original- some would call it ugly. Then Chevy changed all the trucks to have a similar styling, and "IMO" the avalanche-look became passe. I'm glad I purchased the 2006.:ro)

We decided not to buy a new one over the interior. I was very specific in what I wanted. turns out that was the 03-06 interior.

I did like the outside but I don't drive the truck from the outside...

Ever seen the look on a sales mens face when you ask them WHY they F-ed up the interior of a good truck ;)

The only way the Chevy could look more hideous, is to look like the 08 Super DooDoo.
