mannyduramax 10-10-2006, 02:46 PM can anyone give me pointers on changing my trans fluid for the first time. i know i need to to change the spin as well, but that is easy. ive read to just measure the ampount drained and add the same amount of new fluid. does this sound about right?? the next question is transynd or synthetic??? oh by the way... about how much fluid should drain out??? i need to know so i can by the right amount to put back in. thanks for help! You should drain out around 7.75 quarts with the oem pan. If you want to go syn. Transynd is the way to go. After 1st change, you will be around 61% Transynd, after 2nd, 85%, after 3rd, 94%, after 4th, 98%. By measuring how much you take out, you will be very close...
