Just wondering how many has removed either the helper springs or the brackets/bump pads for them?

I done the 4 brackets off the frame and it is so much better! no harsh thumping when hitting bumps and such. nice thing is 30minutes and they are back on, rather then the springs having to swap out the u bolts and so on. (don't haul enough to do any harm, only the 5ver but even that should not bother anything.)

Just wonder how many other do this..

i HAVE been considering this also. I have a 2500 and a 3500 and was comparing the rear suspension. What exactly is involved in removing what you removed?

Its very simple, I believe the bolts are a 15mm, and the nuts 18mm, I used a wrench for the boltheads and a air ratchet for the nuts.. took about 30 minutes total. (I move slow)

The bolts are hexed on the end (you will see what I mean when you do them) Start with a rear one. when you do the front on the drivers side, I zapped them with the air rachet that broke them loose, then I used a small 1/4 drive socket/rachet to hold the bolt and a wrench to remove the nut..
Be careful to Not let them fall into the frame, (if they do and you do not have a magnet you may not get them back) the fuel tank in the way and frame is boxxed in this area..
anyway you will see what I mean when you do it, I removed all 4 nuts then the bracket and started the nuts back on them and tightened them up, Leaving them in the frame only on the front drivers side.. If I ever need to put them back on I will wrap a small wire around one then the the next and so on to keep them in place.

Hope this helps, sorry so long.

It is So nice to drive without hearing the springs slapping the brackets!! Big Diff. and like I say if there becomes a need for the extra capacity it would be 30 min and they are back on.

I put some air bags on and set at the min. 5 psi, it rides sooo sweet.

Air bags saved the day in my case too. Nice ride without the Overload perches and stability when I need it for heavier loads. I got the onboard compressor but you can plumb them for hose air.
