As I am new to diesels, I here guys talking about adding cetane boost to fuel. When is it needed, and can anyone recommend a good brand ?

Don't think you will notice any difference. Sort of like running a gas engine designed for regular grade with premium.

I use Stanydyne Performance Formula in my 2003 6.6l engine. A new formula is coming out soon for the newest low sulfur fuel. You need to go to the Stanydyne Corp. site to find dealers near you that sell the formula. I get better mileage using the formula.. about 22mpg on the highway with no trailer.
