My truck has been acting up, so I wanted to run a diagnostics test. The manager at advantage auto was going to do it for me while I was there getting some parts. I know how to do it but he said he did not mind. Anyways, the check engine light never came on. The more I thought of it, I've never seen it, even at the bulb check stage. Is this ok, or is the check engine light malfunctioning/bulb burned out???
Thanks,
Matthew

If the light is burned out it will throw a code.
Light should light when in crank mode.

Nope, and I've never seen it.
So, is it just a bulb? How do I change it? How would it show a code if it was burned out?
Thanks

DTC 49 for burned out bulb I believe, or missing the bulb from some jack leg mechanic.

Thank you for that link.
So it looks like I should replace the bulb. Exactly what lights should come on? I get 1. brake, 2. wait to start. 3. seatbelt, and I think that is it. This truck seems to have been taken well care of, no jackleg evidence, and I don't want to be the first.

It that a tough bulb to replace?
Thanks,
Matthew
