Hi, I've been wanting a diesel truck now for some time because down south there is a pulling circut throughout the summer.

So next year I plan on going to try it out.

I know egt and boost gauges are a must so I will have them before attempting.

Wanting to see what others trucks look like in pulling mode.

Thanks

IMO, save your money. You don't need your gauges. Everyone has them, but no one looks at them:ro) . Get EFI live and look at all that stuff after you pull.

EGT gauge for is pretty useless for pulling because it will be will be pegged. For street driving it is very important.

To pull you need built trans or big clutch, big nasty tune, bumpstops, spring clamps, tie rod sleeves, pulling hitch and rachet straps for the front end. Nice to have, straight center link, custom pulling receiver, traction bars, and extra tires.

Make sure to get the rules from your local series and follow them.

True Dat!

My buddy keeps asking me what kinda boost we make going down the track, and I'm always like "HTF should I know?"

After I hit 3rd gear I just keep it between the little cone thingies ):h

I've heard that sometimes it helps to have a leadfoot as well. Not sure where I heard it though.

Like I said, we all have them and no body looks at them while pulling. Towing is a little different story.

I look at them while running. Well usually I pick one that I want to glance at. LOL. I use it for tuning purposes. It would be nice to datalog so you could just check it after. The gauges can be could though say if you have something wrong. Tomac I believe sets his up for the same fueling regardless of boost. If you have a boot leaking, it could make for some excessive EGT. I usually just glance at the EGT to make sure it is in check. Of course it is usually right about 1800. Of course my x monitor always has a max of 1873. I need to call them to see if that is the max read out.

I'm not sure if my guages work? I should really look at them more often. Last time I looked at them they read the same numbers as before. If you have time to look at guages your drivin tooooo slow..........
