Installed the nictane filter kit yesterday. All went well, took about three hours for me including putting tools away and cleanup. I dropped the exhaust down per the instructions to get some operating room but didn't have to make any modifications to the deflector plate to get to the fuel lines on top of the tank. My printed instructions read that the supply line was located closest to the left front of the truck, looking at the supplied pics though and the 2004+ lly showed that it was the one nearest the passenger side rear. Just a little confusing for a minute or two. I filled the cat filter with fuel prior to install and started up and ran flawlessly, no bleeding necessary. Great product and kit, everything worked and fit well. Nick is great to deal with and would highly recommend.

Did anyone with an 2006 LBZ 2500HD had any problems with installing their Nictane filter kit or have to drop their fuel tank to get to the fuel hoses on top of the tank?

I'll have to say that on my regular cab that it did seem that way. I knew it wasn't an option and it never crossed my mind but it did take me about 4 1/2 hrs. start to finish. My truck is so short that the transfer case is right at the fuel cooler; barely enough room to get at the cooler line. only thing that saved me I think is that when I installed my exhaust I used a stainless band clamp to connect the front pipe. When I did this install I just removed the exhaust to have room-and needed it when the cooler line took an hour (maybe)to come loose.
Very well thought out kit though. Can't wait to show all the guys and recommend one to everyone.

I have a 2006 LBZ short bed CC and the whole job took about an hour and change.....it was very simple. I filled the filter up with fuel and it fired right up and has not missed a beat since........What a great kit!!!

I'm working on my back with jackstands. Crew cab, long bed 02. I'm planning on dropping the tank. I just can't bring myself to bend the deflector plate. The tank is almost empty. Should only have to drop it 6 inches or so to see.
Any thoughts?

if you're using a floor jack to drop the tank, put a piece of plywood on it to make it easier to balance. there is 1 bolt for each tank strap. make sure you don't pull too hard on any of the lines. unscrew the hex screws that hold the filler neck to the bed of the truck so it has room to travel downward with the tank
