I have a ’04 GMC CC D/A 4X4. At 3 days old while I was returning from a road trip (about 2 hours on the freeway) I take the exit and when I apply the brakes I have no power. Using two feet I can slow the truck down but defiantly no power assist. I get it down to about 15 MPH and I start pumping the brakes but still no power. When I get to 2-3 MPH the power assist kicks in and chirps the tires and stops the truck. I make the turn off the road and pull over and the brakes seem fine. Check brake fluid its full. I notice that the power assist is from the power steering so I check that fluid and its full. I caushley drive home with no further incident. Next day its fine. Today however when I picked up my kids from daycare when pulling out it happens again. The dealership is close so I take it there. The power brakes don’t work the whole way their when the service writer gets in the start working again. Now I am pissed.

If you are still here heres my question, is their any part, solenoid, valve, regulator, pressure switch, or any other part that might be sticking popping or otherwise cause this to happen?

The dealer kept it over night and will make some call in the morning. I frankly don’t know what they might find or if they will do anything at all but I sure don’t feel safe in it any more.

I think there is a TSB for this.

Well the dealer can find no problem. They kept it over the weekend and had one of their service people drive it over the weekend. The truck did not exhibit the problem again. I have a case open with customer care and am expecting a call tomorrow.

I have the feeling that because they can’t reproduce the problem I will be stuck holding the bag on this one. Anyone have an idea what might cause the problem above? Could it be the ABS or the booster? Any help would be great.
