A huge help in this type of conversion is Mitchell Collision Estimating & Reference Guide. It'll give you all the parts, numbers and prices as well as a decent (but not perfect) idea of how long it will take to replace/install.

Denali conversion is the best mod for our trucks, IMO. I'm going to be doing one soon also. I have a parts list and know where to get everything you'll need. I'll be writing a DIY on the subject with loads of pics. I'll PM ya aswell :)

I have a Denali console i was going to put into my suburban. Changed my mind. Its brand new never installed complete with trim pieces, arm rest, and 6 disc cd player in excellent condition. PM me about it :)

I am also going to do a conversion soon, but I am opting not to do a console swap. Instead, I am sending a lot of my factory pieces out to get them refinished with the Denali blackwood pattern. I am going to have 16 pieces all together. This is not cheesy stick-on graphics, it is the real deal! Included is the dash bezel, steering wheel, console lid, grab bar, switchplates (front & rear), and more! All together I think it is less expensive on average than acquiring the GM Denali parts.

I will post pics when I begin the install and provide install notes. Believe me, you will be blown away when you see this!

I love the pictures of your Denali truck conversion. Where are you sending the parts out to be refinished. What are they charging you? How does this compare to purchasing pre made molded parts?

I got them done at autodynamicswest. These pieces are not matched exactly to the genuine Denali pattern. They are a little darker than the original GM Denali colors, which is really not a problem. I really admire the quality of these pieces, they have very rich color tones. The only thing I don't personally care for is the high gloss finish. I am going to take these off my truck and sell them in the for sale forum. I will probably buy a new set that is done with a matte finish, but I am being told the lead time is 3-4 weeks out.

Anybody interested in buying these off me let me know... they are listed for sale here: http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1371703#post1371703

Where did you get the instrument cluster, that's what I've been looking for, is it set up for diesel?

I converted my cluster with an overlay from jpcustoms. Yes, it was made for diesel, specifically for the 06 LBZ with the manual tap up and down shifting.

Is it possible to get the overlay in km/h and the other canadian units? Is the overlay still bright at night, my dad installed an APC overlay in his 89 chev and now you can't read the speedo.

Also, how did you program the DIC, or is it photoshop trickery?

The JPC overlay is not quite as bright at night as the original, but I wouldn't say that it is gone at night. Its just a little dimmer.

The DIC text is real, but as I have posted in other threads, it is not a permanent change. It is just a random message that is placed on the class II bus and directed towards the cluster. The message only shows until you press the trip reset button.
