You can go about 50,000 miles on a filter.....maybe more...we recommend 50,000 miles. The water separator can just be cleaned out with some gas and reused. I feel rust is its only limiting factor really...or a really bad tank of fuel. Remember, that your FASS selling dealer are the only ones that carry these filters. i would cary an extra just incase.

We are very close to haveing a 3 micron filter for these kits....

thanks for the information I didn't realize they would go that long so if I just replace the FASS filter I wouldn't need to mess with OEM filter
