What brand are your running boards? Do they help keep the crap off the front of your rear fenders?

Diesel Dragon
06-26-2004, 06:11 PM
Hi Rmax,

Those bars are not running boards, there Putco Boss 4" Nerf bars. And they don't help keep anything off the side of the truck.

I've seen some pictures posted of some nice running boards for dually's that flare out in front of the fender and even put a piece behind the fender. I think he had 19.5" wheels on his truck but I can't remeber who. Do a search for 19.5" wheels and it should come up. Green colored truck I think.

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock On.gif Diesel Dragon http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

P.S. Ok I found it it was Tulsa 1718's truck, and they are Putco's too but their a full running board set. They look very nice on his truck. Look under the For Sale section: Update: Rim's for sale 19.5 Alcoa 265/70 (wish I knew how to do a direct link).

Or go look at Putco's web site www.Putco.com (http://www.Putco.com)

Hope this helps.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

P.P.S. or is it P.S.S. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Don't worry about Putco's pricelist you can find them a lot cheaper at retailer's

Mike 330R,

Are those the KMC XD series?

Mike330R
07-14-2004, 02:17 AM
Yes XD 325 which are currently discontinued. It was the last set they had.

They may bring them back.

I tried for a set of the 315's but they are now being made overseas and were "on a boat".

So now I am still waiting on Toyo's which are also "on a boat".

I may just buy a set of other wheels and be done. I am tired of waiting to add the lift! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Sweet looking rim. I was considering them before I saw the Robby Gordon rims, although I hadn't seen the 325's. I think yours are the best looking of the series.

If you are having trouble with the Toyo's, why not just get another brand. There are many tires out there in 35x17's. Are you looking for M/T's or A/T's? I got a set of Open Country SXT M/T's in 35x17x12.5 for a pretty reasonable price, and I gotta say they look pretty nice, plus ride great. Of course, I am a little biased.

Not the real deal but this is the best I could $'s. Still better then the grey stock. The setup Tulsa1718 is sweet.

Anyone got pix of a SRW Chevy/GMC with plain ol' 16" Alcoa's? I'm thinking seriously about getting some at the same time I get rid of the factory pizza-cutter tires.

Thanks in advance.

Mike330R

All of my lift parts (CST, FOX, KMC) I got for a really good deal for an article and a show it will be in, in September. So I am trying to wait.

I am not going to wait much longer than this week.
The wheels are not the correct offset. they are 3.5" (I think) and should be closer to 4 5/8" but I can deal with that for now.

Toyo told me they never made a 35" tire in 17" rim size but you have a set? 12.5 wide is to wide for me as I am pretty sure they would rub.

I would prefer A/T's as I drive on the road 70% of the time and A/T's seems to work better in the sand which is where it will be used most.

Sorry Mike 330R,

They are not Toyo's Open Country. They are Radial Mud Terrain SXT's made by Dean? Anyway, my bad. The point I was trying to make is you have a ton of options for 35x17 tires.

And how do you fit those wide wheels on there cuz your truck looks stock? CPMac posted those pics for me. They are Eagle wheels style 114 (18 x 9.5's with 6 inches of backspacing.) The tires are ProComp X-Terrians 325/60R/18's The truck has no lift mods. They really fit the truck nice.

dwrat,

Love the truck and wheels!! do you find that the steering is busier with the low profile tires, and did you sacrifice a nece ride for the look? I did a similar switch on a Sequoia, and it seems that I'm always making steering corrections.
