What I thought was odd, was that the HP/Tq are higher for the 1500's 6.0 than the 2500's 6.0????

The new LMM Duramax Diesel makes MORE POWER than the 2006 LBZ diesel Motor.

The specs are as follows:

2006 LBZ: Only 360 Horse Power and 650 Pound Feet of Torque.

2007 LMM: 365 Horse Power and 660 Pound Feet of Torque!

More HP/TQ is because of bigger exhaust. 4"

Hey I remember that truck at the state fair. But the exhaust does look huge on the trucks. However I dont understand why the tip is not connected to the tailpipe all the way around the perimeter. Instead its welded on by 3 or 4 pieces of 1/2" round stock. Would that cause a little exhaust leak or is it a cost cutting measure or am I just thinking to much on this?

Man I wish I would of took my camera. We had the guys pop the hoods on both those 900's. Im not for sure what an LBZ looks like but compared to an LB7 this new LMM sure does look like it has a lot going on under the hood. Probably for the new emission stuff

I like the new look with one exception. Seeing the silver color of the intercooler, makes it look cheap looking. Nice look.:ro)

I agree. Looks like it could use some form of closer grill pattern installed behind the front grill bars. I bet the aftermarket will be on that quickly, if not already.

I am really liking the look of the GMC. I've not warmed up to the Chevy style yet.

The tip is not welded to the exhaust pipe all the way around because GM developed the tip to cool the exhaust as it leaves the tail pipe. The slots allow air to be mixed with the exhaust as it leaves the pipe, kind of a venturi effect, so when the engine/DPF is in regeneration mode and the exhaust heats up because of the additional fuel being injected, the tip cools the exhaust to about the same temp as a gasoline vehicle.
