I have jacked my wife’s’ Duramax up a couple of times to work on it. I use a 3K pound floor jack. I have been picking up one side of the front end at a time (one wheel and then the other) and positioning jack sands under each A-arm. I have always been a little uncomfortable picking up the front end by the corner of the frame. I would like to know how others lift the front end of their ¾ ton trucks. And where do you place the jack.
Frame should be fine. If something bends or breaks, get a Dodge http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wink.gif

Hoot is mixed up again. What he meant was "If something bends or breakts, you've got a Dodge!"

I use the frame cross memeber at the front of the truck to lift the front end up. I can lift it from the center and raise both front wheels at the same time. No problems yet...

I'm w/ Eric and use the hoist, it is nice to WALK under the truck http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Do NOT use the crossmember under the truck. It will BEND and the jack can slip off. I had some goofs putting tires on my truck and did just that. I put the floor jack under the control arm then put jack stands under the frame just behind the front door (GM truck)
Max Power.... No comparison under the front end of my truck and yours.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock On.gif If you want I'll post a pic of my tie rods.

Na, no need for you to crawl underneath. In about 5 years you can take a picture of your tie rods from inside the cab through your rusted out floor boards. Make it easier on yourself. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif
