just exactly how many limps is a stock tranny good for? what will it eventually do to the tranny part? Is there a reason not to get all of the goodie out of the stock tranny before upgrading?

i have heard it said that once you limp it once, 50% of the usefull life of the tranny is gone. But after about 12 limps, the tranny seems to be hold more hp, not less like some people stated. does the allison learn to shift harder the more you drive with a big tune?

My buddy just limped his stock LBZ with my PPE Xcellerator on level 3 last night. He drives that thing hard though.

I limped mine approximately 10 times before replacing it. It gets easier and easier and then you just get to the point that you know exactly where and when its going to limp and you can limp it at will.

my question is, what happens if we keep limping it? it will fry the clutches, but will it damage any of the other parts in the tranny?

eventually it will be virtually undriveable. the slightest hint of acceleration will cause it to limp.

If you continue to limp the Alli, you will do more damage which can get costly.
