7.3 is a good motor. A lot of guys are sorry they gave up thier 7.3's for the newer 6.0.

Watch out for excessive white smoke at start-up.
The 7.3 has problems with electrolisys in the #6 and #8 cylinders.
when it's slight it can be sleaved and when it's real bad it's toast.
Diesel automotive services has some good pictures of the 7.3 corroded out.
