I am going to eventually swap my sliding back glass for a solid back glass with a defroster. My question is since the truck came with the rear slider what will it take to make the rear window defroster work? Will there be wires back there already or will they have to be ran back there? Thanks in advance for any help.

That would be ideal but I can't be without my truck b/c I work out of town. I am trying to buy a solid glass from a member on here at the moment, he is checking on shipping for me. I'll let you know when I get the slider out and I'll shoot you a PM with a price. It has 5% tint on it. Factory tint + 15% = 5%. I'll keep you updated.

Anyone else know about the rear defroster if it will work or what I need to do to make it work?

sorry to reply so late but if you have the mirrors that heat the button sholud be the dfrost button on your heater ac controls. if that is the case you may have the wiring setup behind the trim panel in back behind the rear seat if not you may have to run the wires your self should not be to hard to do. But you could always install ith with out the heated part. Also to all i have the power slider and it aboslutley rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the help. I started looking the other day but did not see any wires ran back there. The glass shop said there were some wires I could piggyback to make the rear defroster work. Anyone know which wires these are and what color they are? This is on a 2006 Chevy 2500 dmax/allison with LT3 package.
