Guys I lifted my ride to a CST 11" on 37's, I watched the mpgs drop as well as a little of the power, however the trac bars brought a little back, but I want to do the gears in the rear.... I dont know what to get, I do a lot of fwy driving and some around town stuff, any recommendations?
I was told that 4:56's are the way to go, but I was also talking to a salesman.....
What are the costs involved? I was told between $700-$800, including labor, fluids and a free diff cover (while the sale is on)......... Also was told that it takes the majority of a day????
Also does ORU in Burbank handle this type of thing?
Thanks
Jase

That price seems a little high for just the rear. Gears shouldn't cost more than 300$ and closer to 250$ for just the rear. I wouldn't pay much more than 550$ to 600$.

5-6 sounds about right. also i wouldnt go with anything over 4:56 since they may be too steep for highway driving.

My buddy just had everything replaced in his rear end of his '99 2500 for $800 some....but that was everything. Ring and pinion only shouldn't be as much.

I haven't had my truck in 4WD since its been lifted. Hard to go beat on it with this much invested. Rather just pull the toys to beat on them. 4WD was probably a waste but it is there if I need it.
