I have been told by my tire dealers that you can, but will have to do some triming of your valance and the Plastic fender liners. I am wanting to do the same thing, but only new tires.. I have done alot of searching here, and just dont see alot of people talking about them.

look at the tire and wheel threads. There is a post that tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about what will and will not fit on your truck. It is a GREAT post!!!!!!!

They'll fit. Crank the bars & possibly some minor trimming. Depending on the tread style(big knobs), they MAY rub the t-bars a hair at a full, tight turn. My 315's rubbed a little bit, but nothing serious. If you have em, use em! As far as barryA is concerned, go with the 285's instead-since you're going new. It depends on the look you want. The 305's are about an inch wider, but the exact same height.(305/70 vs 285/75) 285's won't require any trimming. A body lift with 315's on stock wheels looks nice too.

There way to wide for that rim. I wouldn't load them really heavy. The beads will be pulled in very far, which will cause the shoulders to lift up, and the sidewalls will not flex in the area in which they are supposed to. I am sure they will run for a while, but you might have some issues. A 265 is not even approved for that rim.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply Goth20. That simply is my concern, the 285's just dont seem to fill up the fender well to my liking. I would prefer to go with the 305's for that reason. I would even consider going with new 16/8 wheels if I knew the best offset. You may be right however, that the 285/75's might just be the safest bet. I just wish there was more info no here about 305/70/r16's. I would rather make a better informed decision.

Thanks for the info smokin. How high did you have to crank the t-bars?
Your truck looks great. Love the Claws very aggressive looking
Also, I did some checking on the tire sizes
MT Baha claws 305/70/r16 = 33"x11.7x16 on 9" rim
BFG AT/KO 305/70/r16= 33x12.2x16 on 9" rim
BFG AT/KO 285/75/r16 = 32.8x11.4/16 on 8" Rim
So if your getting no rub, and did no trimming, and have a chevy as I do, My hope is still alive that the 305 BFG AT KO's will fit.

Chevy,
Nice looking truck as well. Now I know why I want those 305's so bad.

Just to note, 285s on the stock 16x6.5 wheel look completely different than they look on a 16x8 wheel. I had my heart set on 305s as well after seeing several local trucks with 285s on stock wheel, then I saw a couple local trucks with them on 16x8 and they look much wider, almost perfect. Search some parking lots-
