Just curious because I installed a set of AirLifts on the truck and I am going Elk hunting this week.

The AirLift manual says do not do any heavy offroading if the AirLift bags will be the travel limiter, either up or down.

Anyone have any experience with this??

Thanks
Rob

The bag will only have so much extension to it and they what you to be carefully not to over stretch the bag and damage it.

That's why I need to know what the limiter is. The shock? or the springs?

Doesn't matter. Make sure the bag cycles with the travel. If it doesn't, don't do heavy offroading. I would think that is what that means.

The springs should be the limiter in the rear either way. If the shocks are, youve got problems. You will break your shocks.

What I'm getting at is that if the airbags are the limiter I either need to take them off or install a limiting strap.

The shocks are the limiters in front BTW.

the shocks are the limiter in front, and shouldn't be. that is why they fail.

my point is. It doesn't matter what the limiter is. If you have more travel than the bag, then strap it.

I'd say for sure the upper limiter is the frame - just kidding.

It's got to be the springs in both directions.

I thought that the shocks limited down travel in the rear too? its a lot of travel though

I found the shocks to be the limiter on the rear, until I added the bags, now the bags are out of stroke before the shocks. So Yes a Strap setup is definitely recommended.
