Would it be bad to run around empty in the Tow/Haul mode?


The reason I ask is that I like the idea of locked shifts to lessen wear on my TQ converter...

In addition to towing, I use it in heavy traffic (stop&go), and when drag racing. The rest of the time, I don't like the shift RPM to be as high as it is in T/H.

I do it all the time ....

It is fun to drive in t/h its like driving manual but it shifts on its own. I dont see how it would hurt anything. Lock it and Rock it!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock On.gif

With it juiced if I'm flogging it no because of the line pressure drop Mike alluded to. I feel I am more likely to slip it with the TC locked than without. Sometimes in traffic I will run with it just to keep the TC from slipping and getting warmer than I like. Dont know if its right or wrong but its what I do.
