Hey Pros, My 1997 6.5 is a little hesitant to start rattling when she starts on cold days. Mechanic said glow plugs test OK and says likely controller. Is this an easy thing to replace like maybe I can buy one online and do it myself. Is there a best brand to get or just dealer stock?
Thanks Guys,

Thanks Guys,
Super easy to replace the controller. 5 minutes. Check both batteries before spending money on a controller. I got a new controller and the problem turned out to be a bad battery instead. The controller does really weird things when one of the batteries is bad and one is good.

If you buy online make sure you can return it if it is the wrong one. There are two types that look almost the same, and sellers sometimes get them mixed up and send the wrong one. I doubt if one brand is any better than another - I got the cheapest I could find.

I'll check the batteries then order a controller. Don't know how old the plugs are.
