Hate to bore you with more filter pictures, but...
Here was the fuel filter configuration on my truck at 20,000 miles before I replaced 2 of the 3 filters:
Stanadyne FM100 w/lift pump and by-pass - 30 mic. (installed @12K miles)
OEM Racor (replaced @ 8K miles)
Mega (post) (installed @ 11K miles)
I run FPPF
I want to change the FM100 and OEM every 10K miles and the Mega every 20K.
Since the 2 added filters were installed at different mileage, I wanted to get them in sync, at 20K miles I changed the OEM and FM100 together. The pictures below show the OEM with 12K miles and FM100 with 8K. The OEM is clearly used up, I am surpised by this since the original one at 8K was only 1/3 used up (I have been filling at the same stations). Obviously the lift pump contributes to a more even filtering in OEM, but I doubt the filter was doing it's job at the end, sure glad the mega is post OEM. The white particles are from cutting the filters open.
I was also disappoined to see a little rust in the bottom of OEM filter can, hard to say if the rust was there when new. I remember a few had rust issues with new filters, perhaps this was one of them.
I believe the new FM100 can go 10K and I hope the new OEM will last 10K. Based on the condition of the filters below should I let the Mega go for another 10K? I don't want to replace it too soon but don't want any problems either.
