Anyone know of a way to raise the height of the center console lid to make a more comfortable armrest? The ones on the side of the LT Seats just don't cut it for me. I appreciate the help..

Buy an '03 or newer, they raised the console to a comfortable height.

Maybe you can retro the center console?

I don't know about that, my 2004 still seems to be a little low for me. I purchased a good Cannon/Fieldcrest towel in a grey/charcoal color to match the interior and having it folded into a square and laying on the armrest/center consol to get more height. Works great for me and I can just throw it in the wash every week or two to get it clean!

Yep my 04 is way low. This was the main reason I had a bench in my F350 as I hate the little armrests. I couldnt get a bench in the GMC so I will have to deal with it until its time for a new truck.

And I thought I was the only one running around with a bath towel folded up on the center console....it also comes in handy when you get in the truck during a rain storm http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I've thought about getting some foamrubber and either some leather or Neoprene and building an arm rest that is molded to fit into the recess on the top of the console.

I used to use a cardboard box but that is getting old...Really chaps my rear when GM does this. Ford and Dodge have the right idea. At least make a bench an option. I hate to choose from a cloth bench GMC or a Laramie Dodge in order to be comfortable.....Gowd I already hear the Dodge voices in my sleep...I must resist....I must....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

Maybe GM should just start giving away free matching bath towels http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

I have a bench seat in my '04. Didn't like the wasted space with the buckets, I am going to mount my CB, Scanner and light switch panel in a rack system from galls.
