Hey guys,
I was thinking about putting a 6" suspension lift on my 2500HD w/ 35's. I was wondering if you can change gear ratio's? I had a '04 silverado with a 4" suspension and I put 4:56's in it but I didnt know with the Allison tranny and all.
Thanks,
Chad

I run a 6" Superlift with 315/75/16 BFG's and stock gearing. I have added a 4" exhaust, Predator programmer, gauges, etc., and have no problem with the performance. Truck was very drivable even before the power mod's. Unless you plan on going larger than 315's (35" tires), I see no need to re-gear. By the time you change front & rear gears, you could have added a few power mod's and put the difference in $$$ in your pocket. I have 315/75/16 Goodyear MTR's and I put 4:10 gears in to get my performance back. It cost me about $2000 for front and rear gears installed. I have not had an issue at all.
