Compatibility Question:

Both front and back right sides are out on my '01...

I need to know if the speakers from non bose 02 -06 will replace my 01's without issues...

Also...if anyoneone is feeling charitable and has their old ones laying around taking up much needed space...I'd be glad to pick up the shipping...

I'm guessing that if your truck is non-bose equiped, then you could use newer non-bose speakers.

BTW did you adjust your balance?

Are the rears the same as the fronts?

My dealer says no...(because of the seperate tweeter...)

not sure if he really knows or not

It smells like its burning

I'm not 100% sure about the 01's but my 06 crew cab "non-bose" came with (4) 6.5" speakers. The front speakers, I used my drill and some #8 x 3/4" sheet metal screws to secure them into the door. The rears, had to remove the black plastic speaker holding bracket, remove the speaker, secure the new speaker to the bracket and re-install the bracket.

The tweeters on the fronts, I left em alone since they work well at this time.

Hope this helps.

I have some pic's in my garage.

The front and rear speaker are the same. The seperate tweater is just run off a resistor from the main speaker in the front to keep lower frequencies out. You can get components for the front if you want but it wont be a direct replacement type of thing unless you get factory speakers. Honestly your best bet (if your truck is non-bose) is to go buy after market speakers, even lower costs ones are better then the stock IMO. If you are running bose then you better get bose replacements or it will sound like crap.
