Its time for new tires and I would like to jump up to 40"s. I have over 70,000 mile on the truck with the fabtech kit with zero problems but everyone here seems to like the quality of the Cognito kit.
My first plan was to add cut out fender flares with a 2" body lift to clear the bigger tires. I just don't really care for the look of a body lift.-:t
I didnt install the fabtech kit myself so I'm not sure if any of the mods done would need to be reversed, or if it's to late and I'm stuck with the fabtech stuff.
:help: Thanks Allan

Going to a Cognito 12" is no problem. If the diff ear is cut then I have a bracket that can be used to fix the. I would run upper arms and a Idler pivot sence you have that many miles with being lifted. Let me know if you are in my area or need Cognito parts and I can get what you need to switch.
Thanks Nick

Thanks for the quick reply Nick.
The diff ear was cut off so I will need the bracket. I do have the cognito braces but not the idler pivot so I can add that also. I def want to run the upper arms and set the new lift at the full 12"s. Its also time for shocks so I would like to upgrade to dual shocks also.
I'm on the east coast so I'll have to give you a call early next week to work out the details of what all I need.

It's more than the diff ear. Justin @ Cognito told me "start with a new truck" when I called them and asked about switching.
My understanding is that you will need to change the following:
1) Differential Ear - Cognito Kit requires this
2) Cut factory bumpstop - Fabtech install requires this to be cut and their piece welded in. Cognito kit requires the factory bump stop according to Justin @ Cognito.......
I am really intersted in the diff ear mount and any other info you may have. If it's possible, you may have just sold another cognito 12" kit. Also, I would like to see some pics if you got em'....

Donovan,
Keep your truck and your head up. Yes you should have stated with a Cognito but you didn't so if you what to step up to a 12" here is what needs to happen.
1st- order your COGNITO MOTORSPORTS 12" kit from NOR-CAL TRUCK.com
2nd- diff ear mount / easy
3rd- the mount/bump stop can be subed by limit straps to give you a limit of drop out. / easy if you can weld and give me a strap length to ship you. :thumb:
4th- sell your FABTECH / easy, if you sell it to someone not on here !):h
5th- post pic's when done so other Fabtech guys can see how to switch to Cognito.
6th- Be happy with your truck
It's not as bad as it seems. I had a guy bring in a GM with an A-arm drop just like yours and we put a 10"-12" Cog. kit on his so I know it can be done ! Let me know if you want to move forward with a kit.
Thanks Nick
