Hi,

I recently installed the Racor fuel filter kit with heater and WIF sensor. However when I try to test the WIF sensor by shorting the electrodes, there's no message in the Driver Information Center display indicating water in fuel. I'm getting 14v across the electrodes on the WIF sensor and 14v at the fuel heater plug, and have re-checked the harness--all looks good. I even had a second WIF sensor sent, thinking the first was defective, but that didn't change things.

Is there some way I can verify that the water in fuel system even works on my rig?

Thanks!

Don

Are you sure that you've got a good connection to the factory WIF sensor line in in the harness going to the engine?

Getting that connection was one of the bigger PITA parts of the install for me since the included splice is so small and the harness is taped up the way it is.

I would imagine there's a way to check that factory setup, but I've not had mine apart to see if you could just check the OEM filter the same way as the Racor. Maybe one of the guys who work on these all the time can tell you.
