My tires (factory) are in need of replacement (2003 2500HD D/A) as I might add only has 17500 miles on then!!!! I am leaning torwards Michelin's. How large of a tire can I put on the truck without worring about scraping and speedo calibration?

Chris,
Any larger tire upgrade will change your speedo calibration.
From what I've read here I think you can go as high as 285's without worry about scraping or having to cut/trim stuff.

I had an 01 2500HD gasser with torsion bar re-keys (same as twisting your torsion bars) and was able to fit 295-75-16's on the stock rims with no problems rubbing whatsoever. I thing its because the rims were so narrow (6.5). If you go wider you might have problems.

I have been told by SilverBullet that he did not need to change his speedo with 285 on. And that his speedo was more correct with 285's.

What about smaller tires, I have some LT 235/75R16's left from a D***ge? I thought I would use these for snow tires.

They are narrower than stock but a little taller, so they arent really smaller.

Do you suppose it would cause any problems?

No, there wouldn't be a problem at all running them.
