I had one and didn't have any problems at all. Also, gets by that pesky speed limiter-Hypertech doesn't.

thanks for the reply,I see you are from MN.does any of these programers affect cold starting in the winter.I frequent northern WI snowmobiling in the winter and need the truck to be able to start with out a block heater sometimes.

Both the Hypertech and Bullydog on their highest horsepower settings (95hp), which is all I ran, started just as easily as totally stock. You'll be alright even on the coldest mornings.

Are you sure it defeated the 01 speed limiter ??

Mackin,

I seen that trucknut had a 2003 model. That's the reason I said it would bypass his limiter. On the 2002's and newer it does, on the 2001's it doesn't.

I have personally tested my 02 Duramax at under -20 without plugging it in. Not something I would make a habit of from a longevity standpoint but at least I know it will start in the northwoods if for some reason power isn't available. My 04.5 starts even better with the new glow plugs.

Just for comparison's sake, I've got three friends with Ford's. Two have 2003 6.0L and one is a 2001 7.3L. We do alot of ice fishing. Same place, same temp, and we get there the same time in the morning. Good thing I have jumper cables. They have a terrible time when it turns cold. Around 0 degrees, sitting all day, they already have a hard time starting. Mine turns over without a problem. Not putting down Fords or anything, but that's what has happened the last two winters.

It could have been interpeted either way as in "all" or some models ...

Thanks

I have seen the Bully Dog 95hp work great. Runs smooth and eliminated that ole speed limiter on a 2002.

I was thinking about the Bully Dog, too. How does it compare with the regular Juice? I like the way the juice seems to be smart (at least, they say it is-- I don't have any experience with it). But I like the idea of not adding power until the the truck is warmed up, and sensing if the tranny slips, and backing off. Also they say it can add the full power in the lower gears, and then back off in 5th to keep it from slipping. Does the Bully Dog do any of this? And can you reprogram for bigger tires?

The bully dog doesnt do this, it does reprogram for bigger tires though. Pretty much, if you want everything, you have to get a box and a tuner. A box for transmission slip, delay for warmup, defueling, ect. and a programmer for, bigger tires, gears, read and erase codes, diagnostic data, and putting tranny in fast learn.
