i have a gmc 2500 with a stock head unit and was going to add an amp.
i heard that it has a remote wire already to turn the amp on. is this true?
and if so, does it also have a set of rca outputs too?
just trying to get info before i pull it apart.
thanks for any info

You will have to get a PAC adaper to have RCA's. As far as the remote wire, I believe it is in the harness of wires that plug to the HU. The adapter will solve your dilema.

do you know if that is a dealer only item?
and does that plug into the back of the deck?

you need to be more specific what year....2001-2002 radios are 100% different than 2003-2007 radios.
PAC AOEM-GM24 is the adapter you want if you have a 2003+ radio. The remote turn-on wire is a PINK wire on the plug that plugs into the back of the radio on 2003+ Bose radios...I dont know if non-Bose radios have the wire or not.
