Has anyone had problem with drivers side seat squeaking, at least I think it's coming from seat, it's a metal to metal springy sound?

Thanks in advance,
Terry

I just bought a new half ton regular cab and the seat is creaking/clunking pretty bad. I want to take it to the dealer but I am not up for the run around I will probably get. Plus they will more than likely have to keep it for two weeks. My 03' Crew Cab has never had a problem with the seats.

Exactly, Hopefully it's something I can fix myself, I sure hate taking it back to the dealer.

WD-40 the springs under the seat, it'll stop the squeak.

I've got a squeak when I shift my weight or lean back....don't think it's a spring. Maybe something in the seat frame is loose???

My 94 seat squeaked and drive me nuts. I took out the seat and found the seat frame was made from sheet metal and was cracked. I put a clamp on the crack and was quite as a mouse until I traded her in.

Hey, I found a clamp under the seat... cool! You want it? OK here you go... squeak squeak squeak... LOL

Had the same problem with my 05 lly. Took it to the dealer and they applied lube on the rails under the seat. That worked for a few months but the noise came back. Drove me crazy:mad: . Took it back to the dealer last week to look at it again. They ended up replacing the seat lift motor and so far it is fixed. Dealer only had it a few hours for the lift motor replacement.

Had a similar noise from my 03. Turned out to be the retractor for the shoulder belt. With your seat belt fastened, just pull and release the shoulder belt ever so slightly and see if you can duplicate the noise.

mine is when i shift my weight, it sounds like it is coming from the back left part of the seat. It is definately driving me nuts.

I am having the same prob with both my seats. Only happens on the drivers seat when it is raised all the way up. (power seats)
I am taking it back to the dealer next week and they are replacing them both for me. The lubed them a few weeks ago and it never went away. Got a call yesterday from a lady at service just doin a survery and told her what was goin on and she talked to the service mgr and he said not a prob they went ahead and just ordered me two new seats and will call next week when they are in. I have actually been very pleased with what this dealer has done so far. Better than the dealer I bought the truck from. They would have just said ohh thats just normal.

Had the same problem with mine. Driver side seat was clunking and could push the seat back forward four to five inches. Noticed it was coming loose from the rails. Dealer is replacing the upper seat adjuster today. Also replacing the entire passenger side seat mechanism for a typewritter like ticking noise coming from it.
