Will the new 2007 diesel fuel reduce the need for an EGR blocker plate? My reading leads me to believe that the new fuel will not produce as much soot.

If that is true, we might as well remove the plates and the fingers circuit after the fuel is commonly available.

I'm still leaving mine on. I'm sure the new fuel will cut back but a little bit of soot is too much for me.

With the problems they've been having with the operable EGR's, I'll leave mine plugged.

Smart move.... Regardless of how clean the new ULSD is, exhaust gases in the intake is not a good thing! Next thing you know, someone will suggest running the exhaust from the tailpipe back through the intake manifold. :(

I think the tree-huggers need to try that one on themselves and report back on how well it did...

I think an O pipe would work a little better.....

I think the following may help with potential overheat problems ..... and provide more power too ;)

From the same site as above:

They also sell muffler bearings if you need one - good to use after blocking the EGR ....

I don't think the soot will be reduced much, if at all, with the new fuel. After all, they are putting soot traps on the newer trucks.

This fuel is such a dry fuel, I would highly recommend an additive with it. I use Power Service Diesel Kleen with "Slick Diesel". It is a lubricity additive. I will keep my blocker plate in.
