Ok... This is really irritating me. Google is spammed to all heck when I try to find any dealers of service bodies.

I saw what looked to be a 02-04 2500HD with a bed replacement to a service body. The Trick thing about it is that it retained the stock look of the bed and it didn't look like it ate up much of the actual bedspace. I don't know if anyone has seen one of these. It doesn't look like your standard service body, it wasn't boxy or anything. Really almost covert looking, I had to do a doubletake. Unfortunately I didn't think at the moment to floor it and catch this guy because I really would like to have one, for all the recovery equipment and stuff I carry in a bag in the back right now. Any help from anyone that might know what I am talking about would be greatly appreciated.

I saw one at the dealer and thought about getting my truck with one....till I found out the price. They are slick.

Maybe check your dealer and you could at least get the brand name.

GM Commercial applications used to work with a company that was doing these for the large and smaller trucks. It was truly a nicely built product. GM actually works with the NTEA industry on a regular basis to guide them on the designs of their service bodies to meet all the requirements of the "incomplete" vehicle.

The company that does the "look-alike" boxes was Royal Truck Body. They are in Paramount California, and their # is 800-834-7692. Not sure if this was the sales # or the engineering number, so call with apoligies at the ready. Their website is www.royaltruckbody.com (http://www.royaltruckbody.com), and the one that is the lookalike is the Summit - http://www.royaltruckbody.com/feature.html?type=gm-summit&model=gm-summit.

I do not work for them, nor endorse their products. I just had good experience with their engineering team that made me realize that these people care.

HTH.

Hey Spooling Turbo: I don't know exactly what your looking for but I've gone through the truck body thing till my head hurt!! Heres some names that you can search for on the web. 1)Utilimaster 2)Knaphide 3)Monroe 4)Stahl 5)Supreme It all depends on what you want, and what will fit your needs/tools/use. I took a good look at what I used everyday and what extras I wanted to have on hand and went from there. I have seen all 5 boxes and prefer them in the above order. Also take a good look on what the boxes are made of ie. FRP, aluminum, steel ect.., pay attention to what type of decking is used and if the body can be remounted on another chassis. If you need any more info I'll be glad to help. GOOD LUCK!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
