I've been reading this forum for a couple of months and havent seen this particular question, or I was too dumb to know it when I saw it. Anyway, I have an 02 silverado LT with the single CD player and the tape deck in the console. It doesnt say "Bose" anywhere. I'm not a stereo fanatic by any means, but frankly, it sounds like crap. Ive been reading with interest the "lux" upgrade and this is well within my capabilities to do, but I dont know what applies. So...
1. I take it I dont have a Bose system even though I have the LT, leather package, and thus I cant use the lux amp and get the full benefit correct?
2. If #1 is true, would it be worth just adding an aftermarket amp and speakers or is the sound coming out of the non-bose head unit going to just put bad sound through a good amp and speakers?
3. I definitely want to keep a stock head unit, so if the sound out of that stock head unit would be bad, is there an 01-02 single disk bose head unit that would work with a lux amp? Otherwise I take it I need to get an 03 to 06 bose head unit, does the head unit need to be the 6 disk changer type and if so would that fit in my 02?
