My friends truck( 2001 D/A 93,000miles) shuts down (not much higher than an idle) at about 70. He has to come to a complete stop and restart the truck to get moving again. His only mods are a 4in. turbo back exhaust and cold air intake. The dealer blames it on the intake and wont even look at it until he puts on a factory piece. The truck used to do it at about 55mph with a 5in. exhaust. Any ideas would be helpful.

Explain what you mean by shutting down. Does the truck only go to 2000 RPM's and feels like it won't go any faster? Is he getting the SES? When was the last time he changed the fuel filter, it might be that easy?

no power adder. It is second hand info but the rpm's you mentioned sound about right. He says it doesnt always happen, just often enough to get sick of. I dont know about an ses or the fuel filter. Ill have him check the filter first.
