Has any one had a problem with a slight surge at Idle? Every once in a while I will get a surge at a stop light. I am not sure if at is surge or just a rough idle. I have almost 6,000 mile on it now and this has just started. Once you step on the throttle it is ok.
Thanks

This might be related to using the throttle and brake peddle simultaneously. Or as I recall, it may also occur if you frequently park on inclines. If so this issue has been around since the '01's. Mine will occasionally do it as well if I quickly change from brake to throttle while anticipating a red to green traffic light with the brakes on slightly and then throttle up quickly.

Thanks,
I think where I noticed it was with my foot on the brake and very light throttle pulling into the garage. (both brake and throttle) I will have to check next time.

I get "surging" every once and while when I give a very little throttle like in stop and go traffic or just maneuvering slowly. It happens around that 900-1100 rpm range when I hold the throttle in one spot and the next thing I notice is the rpm's are bouncing from 900-1100 rpm's. This does not happen often but I have seen it and felt it.

Mine surged for the first time this weekend. Bumper-to-bumper traffic, light pedal input surge 900-1100 rpm. Seemed like it would have kept surging if I would have let it.

That is exactly what I have felt and yes I think it will keep surging if you let it

As soon as I steped on the trottle just a little it stoppped. Again I may have had my foot on the brake. At any rate it hasn't done it again. Just a little weird when it does do it. Kind of scary considering there is no throttle linkage it is fly by wire.

Thats the problem, everything is by wire. What I mean is the computers make decisions and adjustments so quickly the mechanical parts can't respond in the same time frame, and then you get the surge. Basicaly the computers need to be slowed down on their adjustment rates to allow the mechanicals to keep pace.
I think I said that properly, my mechanicals are having trouble with my computer.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
