Ive noticed recently that the shifter has an awful lot of play in it....is there an adjustment that can be made to tighten this?? Someone mentioned to me that its just a spring in there...I know it doesnt mean anything, but for wahtever reason whenever i feel it and im not totally on top of it, i think that my tranny is loose ands gonna hit the bed soon....then i snap back to realitly....i know, its weird...
Is it a fairly simple job to adjust??

First see if you feel the individual click detents when you move the shift lever. If you feel the clicks, then your problem will be cable( your shift lever attaches to a cable which moves arm on the side of the trans). Sounds like cable might have come out of the holding bracket on the side of the trans. If you do not feel click detents for every gear, your spring on the valve body is loose or broken.

Mine has acted kind of goof lateley also,I had some water in the rubber boot over the winter and it would freeze when outside on a cold knight, You could hardley shift it.can you replace just the bottom half of the cable? I am still under warrenty but I am sure it won't act up when i bring it in.

I just had my shifter cable come off the side of the transmission last night. I was driving through a milo field and it was knocked off.
All I did was slip it back on, does anyone know how it is suppose to stay on?
