A friend of mine asked me today if the 6.2 glow plugs atre the same as the 6.5 plugs. Well i didnt know but told him i knew where to find out. So are they? i thought they were different. Actually though some 6.2 had different glow plugs. Anyhow thougth I would try to clear this up for both of us. Thanks

Early 6.2's used 9G's. The next generation was the 11G's. Next came the 60G's. Each was an improvement over the previous plug. The 60G's are still the listed plug for both the 6.2 and the 6.5's.

The change from one to the next also involved changes in the timing and latching circuits of the controller. The last generation is a controller/relay that is designed for the 60G's. The timing is the key to getting the proper heat in the plug. Too little "on time" and the plug won't be hot enough to fire the fuel. Too long of "on time" and the earlier version plugs, such as the 11G's, will burn out.
