You have to push a button.

The first thing to do is disconnect the batteries, both of them. The button is more like a rivit then a button and it has a coil spring around it. I think it is located opposit the wire connector on the switch body. You will have to feel for it. It sticks up about 1/4 of an inch. I do not exactly remember but I think you have to start with the switch in the OFF position and push the button. Then you pull the knob and the knob and shaft slide right out with very little force. You may have to fool around with that a little.

Let me know how it goes.Edited by: ag4gt

It is amazing what old age and experience will do. It has been a very long time since I took a head light switch out. Glad the oldhimers hasn’t gotten me completely, and glad it worked so well.
