: What are you Edge Beta Tester’s seeing?
RaceHemi 06-18-2004, 11:10 AM I see many of you have already made the decision to purchase the yet to be released Juice for the LLY, just wondering why? What are you basing your purchase on? I am also interested and like many have been waiting for some time for it’s release but I have some questions that need answering before I get all excited and lay down my cold hard cash. Please don’t try the “It worked great on my last truck, it’s the company’s reputation, or the customer service" thing, it didn’t work like that for Banks and others and it won’t work for Edge. Here is my short list, anyone feel truthful?
1) How does turbo lag compare to stock?
2) What about power levels in 1st and 5th vs. 2,3,4 compared to stock, are 1st and 5th still limited or below that of gears 2,3,4?
3) Juiced LB7 to Juiced LLY comparisons?
4) Comparisons to other power adders?
5) Anyone stack it? With what?
6) Boost pressure?
7) EGT’s?
8) Dyno results?
9) Any drivability issues or problems?
10) Shift quality?
11) Limps or Zings?
12) List of other mods?
13) Number of miles tested?
14) Towing abilities?
15) Drag strip times? (Not Attitude or G-tech)
16) Smoke?
17) Effects on DIC?
18) Please include list of other mods?
I know it’s beta, but all this secret squirrel stuff makes me wonder? Why no feedback other than “it will be worth the wait” or “I think you will like it”? Is it really ready for general availability? Why haven’t we heard some facts, be it negative or positive? If in fact the Juice is the greatest power adder on the planet why doesn’t anyone want the general population to know how it performs? Or is it really the greatest power adder known to man?
My unbiased observation is that Edge seems to get special treatment around here, why? Some members are quick to point out the faults of others (tuners) but tend to ignore the same or similar issues regarding Edge? Re: missed release dates, drivability issues, no starts, Allison shift quality, etc, etc
Makes a guy wonder??????????????????

We as the Beta testers have been asked not to post our findings on the forum untill the end of our testing. I for one will be more then happy to post my thoughts once we are given the ok by Edge. I feel that the request by Edge is very justified, thats the whole idea about Beta testing, to work out any problems and or glitches it might have. Have patience, it won't be long now......http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif</TD></TR>

SteveNorCal 06-18-2004, 11:58 AM RaceHemi,
I can't tell you anything about the Beta unit for the LLY. The reason is obvious, we were told not to during this final test phase (part of the test agreement). When it's all done and finalized, I'll be glad to voice any and all pro's and con's!!
You've been on this forum long enough and if you read a lot, to read about everyone's experience's with all the different power boxes to get a feeling which would be "your" choice to go with. That's what I did, plus of course what they're offering for your $$$. In addition, all the stuff you mentioned which is very important to me and that is Edge's service. Not only customer service, but their Tech's or whom ever you speak or write email to at Edge. This has been my experience so far with them (only 2 weeks) and no I do NOT work for Edge!
Maybe someone else here that has an Edge unit on their LB7 can answer your more specific questions you have listed.
On edit: Looks like you beat me to it Harley99http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

CntrlCalDmax 06-18-2004, 01:54 PM As soon as they turn us loose I will post the results of a 4500 mile towing trip. One thing for sure, the service and support is outstanding! (The pizza in Ogden isn't too bad either)
RaceHemi 06-18-2004, 02:33 PM I know about the customer service and totally agree, I had the juice on my last Duramax. I just wonder why so many people are stepping into line for one without any information to base a selection on. I remember the BS that flew when Banks, Predator, and a few others made product announcements, but yet nothing gets said about an unproven Edge product. Wasn't Edge a little late with the Attitude? No starts, Nextels, fishbite,HHMMM!
My, my how attitudes and perceptions change when Edge is brought up around here!

LOL - yeah, great beta eh !! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif
Hemi, im with you on this one - cough it up, give us the goods on the product so we all know whats happening... I look at like this - they have represented it as a beta test version to make sure its ok for the general public and make any changes if needed - well if thats the case, we all know there might be some quirks as it is a "beta" version - but cant we still get some early feedback on the beta ? We can all assume that the quirks if any will be fixed before release, right ? and we can go from there, just a thought though as i would hope individuals could represent there findings even on these beta versions
RaceHemi 06-18-2004, 05:24 PM Thanks daver,I stand corrected on the fisheye!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ouch.gif
I'm not knocking Edge products, customer service, or HP ratings, I'm just wondering why people are placing orders and getting in line for a product that we can't even talk about? I have seen a few HP numbers posted here, which is great info but I don't drive around on a dyno so I would like some real world details. I don't care about the problems Beta testers may be encountering, Edge will no doubt fix them, what I am looking for is the good stuff! Uh, there is good stuff, right?
When you become a "Beta" tester, do you pay to test the manufactures unit or is it "supplied"? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
Kennedy 06-19-2004, 01:04 AM We'll have one back on the dyno tomorrow. Stop up and see for yourself!
Midnight and time for shower/sleepy time...
