: need a great tow tire...
Wolfpack 3521 09-23-2006, 10:07 PM that will fit on the stock 16x8 wimp wheel!!! i would like something aggressive and i prefer a load e. i like the bfg ata's, how well will they work? i like the aggressive look of those tires and road noise isn't a concern. my 06 lbz doesn't tow for crap and i think a bigger/better tire would be a big improvement.
thanks for the help!
TIM Z 09-23-2006, 10:11 PM you'll be really happy with the BFG's, They are some tough som*****es!! Laast long, great ride, low noise, great offroad, They do it all. Ive had 4 sets over the years, i cant wear em out unless im burning em off!
Timmy2500 09-23-2006, 10:11 PM I have the BFG A/T's 285's load range D, I like them alot, but you will have to go with the 265/75's to get load range E in the BFG's
Wolfpack 3521 09-23-2006, 10:12 PM i would like something that is a direct bolt on, i don't want to have to do an alignment or crank the bars.....is the 265/75's the way to go?
thanks!
Timmy2500 09-23-2006, 10:18 PM I fit the 285's only with cutting the front inner fender a bit, no other mod is needed I never get any rub. The 265's would be a bolt on and go tire uprgade.

The 265's would be a bolt on and go tire uprgade.can you elaborate on the cutting of the fender? i don't mind doing stuff like that, i just don't want to have to get a $100 alignment on top of the cost of tires, mounting, balancing...etc!
thanks!
Timmy2500 09-23-2006, 10:24 PM Fender no Inner wheel well is what I should have said I took about 6in of the front and that was it. Took the dremel 10min and it was done ill try to find the pic I have. also what kind of truck dually, 2500 ?? you don't have your sig filled out

now why couldent they have done that 1yr ago :(
juniorcruzer 09-25-2006, 12:39 AM Might want to check out the michelin tires also. Many on this board are getting 80,000 plus miles out of them, many while towing. I have friend who is a farmer, and his last set he got 108,000 miles out of them, and had 60 on his current set and they look like they will go 100,000 plus on this set.
I have had BFG on a few trucks and have been very happy with them, just another option to through out there.
I have them in 265 in a load range E on my truck.

Wolfpack 3521 09-29-2006, 01:26 PM so whats the proper size for the 285's....75's or 70's?????????
im ready to order and i decided on the 285's, just want to make sure it should be a 285/75/16
thanks!
2500hd duramax 09-29-2006, 01:57 PM It all depends on what your doing, if your doing a lot of highway and towing. I would reccomend the Michelin LTX M/S 265's, I have both, I havve 2 sets of wheels a stock set with the MIchelin and a Stock set with the BF Goodrich 285's. The BFGoodrich is good if your towing a tag along but if you have a gooseneck your going to want the "E" load range Michelins.

i have a tag along box, the mich's are too pricey and not aggressive looking enough for me. the bfg's are on back order so thats why i was checking out the nitto's....thanks for the reply

thanks for the help!
I'm not sure I understand why tires would make your truck "tow" better. I tow a 37 foot 5th wheel with stock tires/rims, and it tows great.

Wolfpack 3521 09-30-2006, 12:47 AM well, this is what i ended up ordering tonight....http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Dueler+A%2FT+Revo&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=675R6ATREVOWL10&fromCompare1=yes&place=27
i got a $75 rebate and decided to just go with 265's...should be a big improvement over the stock tires if for nothing else at least they are much better looking!
thanks guys!
linder08 10-05-2006, 06:51 PM bfgs will always work
