I am going to be stepping up from my 96 Z71 with 4" suspension lift with 33x12.5" tires to an 2500HD in a year or two and was wondering about differences in lift heights compared to my Z71. There is a truck around where I live that is an 03 gas 2500HD with just a 3" body lift and the torsion bars cranked up 1 1/4 or 1/2 and has 305's on it. It looks awesome and it looks like it has a 6"suspenion lift but it doesnt I talked to the owner. Is there that much of a difference between HD's and 1500's? Thank's Adam

Their is a big differance stock. I measured my 2500HD and then my budy's 1500. It was about 3 1/2 inch differance in height stock.

Have they changed the design in frames and everything since the style I have? How much different is the HD than my 96 Z71? Can you still go slightly offroad with a body lift on a truck? I don't want to drive off the road and bottom out.
