Do you need a lot of fuel to get the boost up in the 25 to 30psi range? I put a bleed in my wastegate line, quite large, and still can only get 17psi boost. It spools up quick but hits 17psi and thats it. I think I have enough fuel although very little black smoke. When I was using the edge I could hit 20+ quite easy with lots of black smoke but less power. What am I missing? I thought at stock it was possible to boost up to 30psi with an LB7.

Are you looking at boost on an external gauge or in EFILive?

Where are you getting your boost reading from? If you are getting it from the wastegate tube and you are bleeding the wastegate tube you might be getting a false reading?

Are you sure your gage is good? Sounds low to me.

The gauge should be good. Autometer mechanical boost gauge. It moves smooth and is responsive. I have it tapped into the intake just above the intake heater. I'll do a wot run and log it today to see if the gauge reads close to EFI.

You could also use an air compressor to check the gage. I'd have a hard time believing you are only getting 17lbs of boost.

Efi shows 42psi which would be 28 taking the static air pressure into account. Time to check the boost gauge.

So the boost tables in EFI for the LLY are the ~14psi atmospheric plus boost, meaning the 32.2PSi at the max is really about 18 or so PSI "Boost"? in order to get 32PSI, I'd need to have the top end be 46PSi? :help2:

my boost gauge when i installed it i bent the 1/8 plastic tube right in the gauge pod i wish i would of went with a electric boost gauge although i have not had any probloms since i fixed it

Guys, there is a PID in the scantool that will give you the real boost, it factors in Baro to the sensor reading.

Actual Boost Pressue {CALC.ACTBOOST}
PSI = {GM.BOOST_DMA.psi}-{GM.BARO2.psi}

Ross

Sweetdiesel, how did you fix the kink in the line? Can you get a small compression elbow to make that sharp turn? I had the same problem and wasn't able to find an elbow so I just routed it the best I could but it must have kinked again when I put the overhead consol back in place. Thanks for the tip Ross, I will look for that pid.

depends on what you are logging for boost actual or turbo boost pressure
and depends what your baro is his maybe 14 but yours may be different

oops got to be faster to beat ross
max you could go to a hydraulic hose shop and probably get the fitting
i used a 1/8" 45 no more kinks if you cant find one i could send you one
