I made the mistake of draining the pan and then added fluid to the clear container on the driver's side of the engine compartment.... Must be plugged, because the level has stayed the same and no fluid went to the tranny...??????????????

I had to add fluid through the dip stick..... is this normal?

I sure do hope that you didn't let the truck run for along time. May have taken afew miles off the life of the tranny.

If you look at the clear bottle there is a picture of a steering wheel on it.

I'm changing trans. filters on my 06. The dealer sold me GM T-IV auto trans fluid to put into my spin on trans. filter. The trans, has the original fluid in it from the factory. Is this the right stuff?

I just looked at the trans dip stick and it says Transyn.

Dave,

If you have the "as built" list from the factory it will show if Transyn was a selected option.

I'm no fluid expert, but I've seen on this forum where others have talked about using Transyn to top off the transmission, even if it did not come with the Transyn option.
