Just wondering, if you get an edge juice primarily for towing, is it advisable to change out the exhaust and intake, or can you leave it stock?

You can leave it alone. You should really have a pyrometer though. Go with the attitude. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif Exhaust will definately reduce your EGT's but not totally necessary. It is still really easy to keep egt's in check.

Max is right about not totally necessary, but you can get it warm in a hurry with the stock exhaust and the higher Juice levels.

I put a CAT back on mine and it dropped the empty 70mph cruise EGT's about 125 to 150 degrees. Before the change, I couldn't get anything above level 2 to run WOT without hitting the temp limit. Now it will run level 3, and depending a little on ambient air temps, level 4 without hitting the 1350 temp limit.

Haven't had a chance to tow anything heavy with it, so I can't speak to the temps you might get doing that. I definitely wouldn't run it without the Attitude to monitor temps.

Can't say about the intake since I've not done that. Based on what I've read around here, there's not really an advantage to changing that performance wise for my truck, and lots of questions about the aftermarket intake/filter setups. Too many questions for me...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Zeeb,

So putting your CAT back on reduced your EGT's??? How was the performance befor and after the EDGE and CAT install and removal. It would seem odd to reduce the EGT with the CAT.

I think he is talking about the exhaust system post cat, ie., the section behind the cat, not referring to putting the "cat back" on.

NEVR L8 is correct.

I should watch my grammar more closely when I post these things...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

I got a temp reduction since the factory exhaust from behind the CAT including the factory muffler, was replaced with a 4" system and low restriction muffler.

I did this to try and maintain the EPA stuff since we have diesel emission testing where I live and I'd rather not have to change the downpipe for that. As well as the fact that some, not all, who remove the CAT are getting "Insufficient EGR Flow" codes set when they do it.

I'm not really at liberty to tell you much about the Edge since it's a Beta release, but I am impressed with it.Edited by: Zeeb

Hey Zeeb:

Is there any tentative release date for the LLY Juice?

I'm going with 4" catback exhaust. Need to get the pyro installed before the Juice comes out. Then the tranny upgrade, then the tires and wheels, then propane, then the.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

NEVR L8,

If your going to get the Juice/Attitude you need to use the Pyro it comes with. It will be worth the wait. Call edge for a release date I think it is coming soon.
