: Is this for real????

Pardon my, perhaps, ignorance, but I did not think that my fuel injected truck even HAD a throttle body. Isn't that what one injector per cylinder is for?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

I just sent the seller the following PM via EBay. Comments?

<QUOTE>

The 6.6L Duramax engine offered in GM trucks does not evan HAVE a throttle body. How can you sell spacers for it? It's direct injection (one injector per cylinder).

Furthermore, 6.6L Duramax has never been offered on 1500HD as your ad states.

Methinks you should rethink this item.

My Note to the seller is below:http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

This must be one hell of a remarkable product. Please tell me how it installs on my 2003 Duramax motor when a Duramax DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A THROTTLE BODY? It's a direct fuel injection motor. And I am very sure General Motors will find your applications very interesting as the Duramax has NEVER been offered in a half ton truck. I think that this listing should be modified or cancelled as it contains false or misleading information which is a technical violation of Ebay's fraud policies.
If you do not do this on your own, then I'm sure that Ebay can compel you to do so.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

<DIV>Here is the response I got , how about it techie's????</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The spacer is mounted between the formed intake tube and intake manifold. You were correct that the Duramax doesn't come in a 1500 model, it is fixed now, errors happen. The unit does fit and it does not mount to a throttle body, we have installed many in our local shop. The reason it claims it is a throttle body spacer is because it was the default product name from PowerAid and they felt no need to make a new product titles for the Powerstokes and Duramax models. We see no reason to report us to eBay or GM based on the reason that the auction showed the half ton model. However, thank you for notifying us about the 1500 model, we did not notice the error before listing.</DIV>

ROFLMAO!

The "whistle' means its working!

That is about the only way you will know its working because you sure as hell won't see any power or fuel mileage gains!

You'll get better acceleration due to the much lighter weight of your wallet.... yea, that's the ticket!

***quote***
PowerAid accomplishes this by spacing the throttle body one inch and adding a dyno-proven Helix style bore(s). As the intake air passes through the spacer, the Helix bore creates a vortex action that improves atomization creating a more complete combustion and an efficiently burning engine.

Dyno-proven? I'd sure like to see the numbers.

Total b.s.

"the Helix bore creates a vortex action that improves atomization..."

Only possible for port fuel injection, not direct injection. The 23kpsi fuel pressure is what promotes atomization in a direct injection motor, and nothing else. Total waste of money.

If you'll read the entire auction (as most buyers do not) you'll notice the statement I highlighted in bold.

Application does not have throttle body, but the spacer mounts to the intake manifold and the formed intake tube.</BLOCKQUOTE>

It seems pretty clear to me that the auction is for a spacer that is used between the "intake manifold and the formed intake tube."

I see no reason to harass the seller over it.

I wonder if the "Boyz with a Thang for Noize", would get a kick out of the "Working Whistle"http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wacko.gif... reno4648,

What you're seeing on their eBay ad now is a result of being told of their error! Now it's correct for someone wanting to waste their $$.

The ad didn't say that when I sent my msg to the seller. Never got a reply, BTW.
