 I love mine but if I had the chance to trade it for another one I would in a minute. I move cars all over the place and I have had mine for 5 1/2 months now and its been in the shop for TURBO LOSS OF PROGRAMMING, EGR VALVE REPLACE, WINDOWS ON PASSENGER SIDE STOP WORKING, EGR CODE AFTER REPLACEING EGR TWO TIMES, now I am stuck in Amerillo Texas for two days because the Turbo Control stopped working so I lost TURBO all together and they have to fly one in from GM, then another control that goes with the Turbo some sensor burned up on it (they showed me the parts they dont look good) I even tried to trade it at the dealer I am at but they cant find one in a 500 mile area of where I am at. So now its costing me two days in a hotel and no truck or anything to do and the car I am dropping off will be two days late and I lost my return load back east. But when it runs its great but when its down (which has been a lot) it costs me money. Lucky for me it happened now because I have 35400 miles on it. Maybe GM should pay my hotel bill but I dought it, so here I sit until Saturday I hope because the parts should be here by then.

Just to add more info

Well to add to this subject, I just got home after being gone 10 days, The dealer fixed my truck but when I took it down the road 45 miles and the SES light came on again and loss of power so back to the dealer I go. They tried for another day and after 5 times of me trying to leave (they tried stuff that GM said to do) and I would leave and I get 5 miles down the road and BAM "ses" so they gave up and said they would have to call GM TECH SUPPORT on Monday since this all happened on a Saturday, so I said OK. Monday comes and GM said change the Turbo Vane sensor, temp sensor for the turbo and see if that works. Well it did and off I go, now I am heading home to NY and I get to PA and it starts again. The SES light and loss of power and down to 30mph. I stop shut it off and wait a few minutes and start it up and it goes better 70mph but the light is still on so I say heck I am headed home, half way home the light goes out so I thought GREAT and feel better and then 10 miles from home SES again and now it will only go 2000 RPM and thats it. So in the morning I am going to the dealer and tell them KEEP IT Censored I want a new one, I talked to the dealer in Tx today and told them what happened and they said GM TECH support told them the only other thing to change next was the TURBO. It just seems like I got a bad one and GM is just trying the hit and miss game with me. I dont want to get stuck out in the middle of nowhere and have no cell service when that happens. Also does anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong with it because I know the problems I am going to have trying to GM to buy it back or replace it.
The codes that it throws is "LOW TURBO BOOST" if that helps.
Thanks any help would be great.

Well I dropped it off at the Dealer this morning and they said they will have at it, I gave them all the paperwork from the other TWO dealers that worked on it from my last trip. They said the will call Tech Support at GM and see what they want them to do also. He said that since this is my 5th try to fix that maybe its some kind of wire harness problem and from moving everything around everytime they change something is why it works only for awhile and then goes into code again. I told him that I would just rather dump it and get a new one and he thought it might be a good idea also, he also said if he cant fix it he wont let me take it and tell GM to replace the truck, :cool2: so we shall see. If anyone has had the same problem PLEASE let me know and I can pass the info on to the dealer to maybe help them fix my problem.
Thanks
Tony :ro)

Doesn't NYS Lemon Law say 3-strikes for the same issue then manufacturer must buy it back?

Lemon Law is very deep an indepth but basically they have 3 times to fix the exact same problem. So say he had EGR problems 3 times, thats not enough. It has to be the exact same problem with the EGR all t3 times. Unfortuneatly, even if it is though the EGR is not massive enough to be a lemon. It has to be more of an internal engine or transmission problem. I have a 2005 Ford that kept blowing tranny's. I couldn't lemon it because it wasn't the exact same problem every time and it wasn't in the shop long enough to cause a "hardship"

Riccas is right about the lemon law thing, I did have GM buy a jimmy back one time but that was after it caught FIRE. So the dealer calls me today and says it all fixed, they said the code was low fuel flow or something to that effect, what it means is the fuel filter was clogged so they changed it and he said its good to go. I am picking it up on Saturday so we will see when I hook the trailer to it to see if it sets any other codes.
The SAGA continues

I was reading your posts going "Did anyone change the fuel filter?"

Also your posts all show from today but I swear you posted this before... Maybe it was deleted or moved something. The guys on the board seem to like to move 3/4 of the threads to areas nobody reads or will find again. ;)

Your time line is a little off. Your first post, today, says you're stuck in Amarillo until Monday, then your second post you leave Amarillo and have to return, posted today too. Then you head back to NY and it konks out again, today. Then you arrive home take it to dealer get it fixed, all today. What gives????

I reposted it because it got moved and NO ONE was adding to my post, sorry if the time line was messed up. They moved it to a place where no one would of even looked or seen it. I will add to it today after I pick it up, the fuel filter only had about 8000 miles on it so I am suprised it was that badly clogged up but we will see today when I put the trailer to it.
Hope this cleared it up on the time line thing.

The joy of a diesel. :( One bad tank of diesel can plug the fuel filter. I really was surprised that the first two dealership did not try that first.

I was lucky to get my 2004.5 bought back. It was a very horrible experience. You really have to fight & not take no for an answer. I had one of the first ones off the lot. Bad injectors over & over & over again. Would they replace all of them at the same time? After they replaced 2 at different occasion? Nope. Finally on the 4 time there & 2 weeks about each time all 8 were replaced. That did not get me a buy back. It had to be the same injector & you have to let them try to fix it 4 times. Oh the 5 return then you can "start" to fight. Let me tell you it is a up hill battle. I still had problems with the truck not going over 30 mpg & then it would slowly go faster. If I hit the gas hard it would be like hitting the brake. They kept telling me to put a new fuel filter in. I was putting in new filter all the time. I finally kept track & it was only on for about 1500 miles give over take. I bought it back in & they said of you put a cheap filter on. They put a new gm one on & I was back in 3 days. I did some research back then & found out for everyone that there is only one filter made by rarcor & everyone just added a sticker to it. I really was happy to cram that one down the dealer throat because they really tried to make me feel bad for buying a junk filter. They kept throwing in parts & I started the BBB process. Let me tell you the Ford, Dodge & Chevys pay the BBB money, but they are still neutral. Yeah right. It is not the normal BBB. It is the Auto BBB. I emailed my Mn branch & they sent it to the Branch were GM was located. I waited & waited & then I broke down with my little girls in the winter & then I called & they told me they did receive it. Well I had a nice lady at my Mn branch she found my email & sent me a copy & them a copy. Still no response. It was lost again. I think is was like Feb. I was almost in a accident & I told the other lady on a message that they will be no compromise. I want my money back or a new truck. Oh, also back in December I wrote a letter because of the problems threating to never buy a GM again & let me tell you I have been a GM guy all my life so it was hard to say. Now is Feb again. I took the same emaied letter & rewrote it but from the heart & not threating, just to see my point & look at all my problems & how much money these trucks are for the average guy. Then the next day they called me & agreed to do a buy back. It still took another month or so & I had to pay a mileage fee, but I did get a new truck. Just after I had my new truck the mechanic there, who I got to know very well, told me they finally found the problem. It was a fuel rail o ring internal leak. He said it would leak back into the fuel tank instead because it did not have the pressure. They just assumed it was the fuel filter. FYI & good luck bud.

The filter was not even on my mind to change because I change it so offen because of the miles I drive, all the other dealers didnt change it because the CODES were for LOW TURBO BOOST and the temp sensor was no good. So I pick it up from the dealer last night (they were closed) and they locked the keys in the truck for me and off I go to head HOME. I get 30 miles down the road and BAM ses light comes on and its acting up again, -:t so Monday morning I get to take it back and see what the code is this time. Now this is getting to be a pain in the neck but even with all the problems I love this truck its just I have a few GREMLINS hiding inside there.
I will keep everyone posted as to whats up this time.
