I am new to this diesel stuff, so I dont know really where to start, Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! but probably put a new air filter and intake. Then get a programmer/chip.

I have been reading a lot in these forums and it seems like everyone starts off with the EGR blocker and fingerstick. What is the main purpose of this? Why doesnt the factory do it? Are there any negatives you get by doing it? I am sure this has been asked and answered a thousand times, but i cant seem to find a good concise answer.

It eliminates clogged EGR concerns & prevents throwing any EGR codes - Relatively inexpensive & will save you headaches when you upgrade your exhaust - I'd say start w/ the EGR stuff & exhaust

I agree with diesel speed, EGR blocker is a definte thing to do...what it does is block Exahust Gas Recirculation back into the air intake for emissions purposes...but also keep in mind that an engine is a sophisticated air pump and to get the best performance out of it don't do just exhaust or just intake, be sure to do both. As far as a programmer, i bought a bully dog triple dog with outlook monitor and am very happy, plus if you trade to same brand or another brand you can use it again. I don't know where you are located but I'm from Indiana and purchased my part from ETR performance in Tennesse...great customer support and will set you up a good packaged deal if you are interested in buying more than 1 thing at once. Good luck

I will definitly start with exhaust and intake then, that seems like the way to go. Any suggestions on exhaust? thanks for your advice

Banks exhaust and Banks Ram Air Intake... That is the 2 things that I will do on my LB7...;)

first volant intake, then mbrp exhaust, finally either an edge, ppe, bullydog unit
ppe and bullydog if your looking for a programmer
edge if your looking for something w/ saftey features and monitoring
however i did sell a hypertech hyperpac to a customer on here and he was very happy w/ it his name is daniel liguori i'm sure he could tell you first hand how much he liked that unit.

actually we sell quite a few of both. right now the most popular is the edge w/ *** we have over 40 something pre-orders for them already. i have heard good things about the diablo though, good feedback about throttle respone and gas mileage.

ordered the diablo this weekend, and got it in today. I love it. I need to keep it on the 65hp level just because my truck is stock. But soon the exhaust will come!!
