: MBRP Exhaust AND new intake
04ROB 06-16-2004, 09:00 PM Today I was fortunate enough to take the tour of the MBRP warehouse and manufacturing plant. I actually got to see the construction of the mufflers and watch some mandrel bending. While this was going on, the MBRP crew installed a cat back 409 single for me. Great bunch,
First impressions.. Superb quality, (I saw them being made). everthing fit perfect from flange to polished tip, That made short work for the install
Sounds great!, deep low burble, not loud and no drone at highway speeds. The engine ran cooler on the way home even though the outside temp was higher and I was stepping on it. I didn't notice much more turbo whistle but pick up seems far better. When you get on it, the deep growl starts to come alive, I love it!
I also had the opportunity to talk with Martin Barkey (Mr. President). He's a busy guy, but came around to say hello and chat. He pulled up in his big black GMC dooley, We started talking about his new LLY intake in the works. Sounded impressive to me with SS pipe and SS filter box. Ya I want that! No plastic, no rust, no paint peeling, I'm sure he can expand on this more if he wishes, More goodies in the works too,
Anyhow I hung out there as long as I could, what a great day,
Thanks Martin

04ROB 06-17-2004, 07:57 AM They are located in Huntsville Ontario, Canada.
Martin was telling me that he is building a new building (larger)
You can also find them on the web at www.mbrp.com (http://www.mbrp.com)
I'm looking forward (and will be waiting) for thier SS cold air intake. There were some other performance bits Martin talked about but I'm not sure if I'm at liberty to mention,

04ROB 06-17-2004, 10:30 AM Grasshopper
I contacted you about gauges, my next project, I want to come down to see what you folks are up to. I need to get a pod before I come down and set up an appointment. MBRP is about 40 min drive from me
I'm hoping there will be some sort of local get together organized, Maybe I should host a bar-b-que up here in the big town of Parry Sound,
Hey, maybe Martin can supply the steaks! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
Rob
Hi Rob
Great meeting you yesterday. Thanks for the kind words.
Yes, the bar- b sounds cool and yes the steaks are on me. Just let me know when where and how much beef. Toward the end of the summer would be best for me, getting as many DMAX and DIESEL PLACE guys together would be a blast. Can you imagine the BS flying around at that party......................
Watch out for the BR Powersource guys....... they will likely eat to much steak and drink to much be_ _ , er pop.

You read it here, Steaks compliments of MBRP,(Geeze, didn't mean to put you on the spot Martin) bar-b-que, show and shine, a keg or three, and see who can lay down the longest rubber,
throw in some tech bits, door prizes, and show off some new products you have the makings of a annual event,
Sounds great to me, let the BS fly!

It really sounds like a blast to me, Parry Sound is only 2-1/2 hours from Toronto heading north, In fact its a straight line right up the 400 to get here.
Sport bike rally grew and has about 900 bikes from all over North America that converge here, Now if we could have a Diesel rally that size, whoa baby that'd be cool
The bikes got to use the airport runway for speed trap, I wonder if they would let us use it for something similar,
So sometime in August??
My wife does a mean Bar-b-que, and Ma makes some of the world's finest potato salad and homemade pies, raisin, apple and banana cream,
Ha, I just realized why I've been gaining weight, http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

heartbeatcanada 06-17-2004, 09:08 PM Did someone say who can lay down the longest rubber http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif I know who's supplying the steak, but whos supplying the tires http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif Ah hell, they make new tires everyday, i'm about due for a new set, its been at least a couple of months.
I'm in for an event or get together, wether hopper and Bernie get something going or its up in P Sound, or maybe both.
2 1/2 hours from Toronto, we have dmaxs man with some mild power http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif, i can make Sudbury in 3 hours from Milton, if i smell steak on the bbq and homemade potatoe salad, i'll be there in record time. If we;re gonna do this, we should get going as summer will be done and gone if it goes anything like this week. I'll do what i can for any help or grub or sodi pops http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif
Rob- Martin seems to have a handle on what he's doing, i'm very impressed with my "cool dual" set-up, even though those tips are hard to keep polished, mine seem to be a dark black color around the end of the tips..............any tricks to keep them clean Martin http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifEdited by: heartbeatcanada
Heartbeat: A little less fuel may help.
Rob: Sounds like you have a party, we should likely get a date set and go from there.
I'm looking forward to this, keep me posted.

04ROB 06-18-2004, 09:53 AM Ok, how does Sat/Aug 21st sound?
Event: Bar-B-Que
Where: Parry Sound, Ontario,
Menu: Steak compliments of Martin at MBRP, Potato salad, corn on the cob and homemade pies made by Ma, God bless her heart,
I'll need to know how many are comming so Martin can fatten up the cow and Ma can start planning on how much dough to roll.
Adgenda: Eat, drink, and BS. I'll see if I can get use of the airport runway, or maybe a boat ride out on Georgian Bay.
I can give names and numbers for local hotels for whoever wants to overnight and have a couple of spare rooms just in case.
Let me know if the date works.
Maybe I should post this thread in the get together section of the list
Rob
I'm there.Aug 21 works for me. The moo should be ready by then.

Dmax Tim 06-18-2004, 01:33 PM Toronto sounded a lot better than Parry Sound.
I don't think I could make it that far in Canada http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
grasshopper 06-18-2004, 02:05 PM cmon tim, it ain't that far from us at all!!! Just a quick snap of the go pedal from us! Martin, I'm hungry my man, and I'm there! Count me and bernie in! Rob if you wanna set something up at the airport let me know if you will need any assistance contacting or what ever needs to be done to get a pass in! I love Parry Sound, Like I said I have attended the bike rally in previous years! Great party let me tell ya! The police where not even that bad there for that particular weekend, just my trip home I got nailed http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif. They seem to frown upon 180 in a 90!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif Anyways, if there is a camp ground somewhere close by I'm cool with that as well! Yee Haaw. Talk to you soon guys!
DEREKhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
04ROB 06-18-2004, 03:44 PM Guys,
I think we can put together a good time here, bring the family if you like, we have a beach 5 minutes from my place right on Georgian Bay, I'll check on a group rate for a Island tour boat (its a 3 hour tour almost like Gilligans Island) yes there's lots of camp grounds around too.
I figure a few events, like the airport runway if they will go for it, a boat tour, a run down the main street of town and settle into a nice Bar-b-que dinner and refreshments and BS.
I'll post a thread in the get together section of the forum this weekend and people can let me know who's comming so I get an idea of food,
Grasshopper, I know a few people at the airport that might be able to help clear this if it is possible, I'll give them a call and see what they have to say, no we don't have enough police to properly cover this area Glad you guys are comming.
We'll give it a whirl and see what happens!
