: TQ slipping?

While I was passing a car on the highway today I noticed what sounded like the tranny slipping. I tried stepping on it a few more times and watched the slip % on my Edge monitor. Depending on what level I had it set on I would see anwhere from 1.7% to 17% slip. When it did slip in the higher percentages it was only for a second and then it came right down. Any ideas? I have never liped the tranny or set a code. Is my TQ slipping excessively or is that normal?

Thanks

What levels were you running in? Does it still show this kind of slippage when you manually lock up tc with the tow/haul mode?? What gears show the slippage???

I think it is an Edge problem. My truck had the same symptoms and getting the box updated solved the issue. Mine showed all the way to 89% slippage and I was still traveling 60 down the freeway w/ no problem. 1-801-476-3343 is there #. Call and see if you can get it updated.

When I was testing it on the highway the edge would show slip in all power levels with the TQ locked either with the tow/haul mode or just when locked up in 5th gear. I was in 5th every time I saw the slippage. It would only show 1.5 to 1.7 in the lower power levels but on level 5 I saw a 17% slip momentarily. I don't think it is an edge monitor problem as I can feel/hear the slipping when it occurs at the higher levels.

I would stay out of the higher power levels until you figure this out. I think you have diagnosed this correct. But what do I know. Hopefully one of the experts will chime in. Good luck.

Ya, thanks for the input guys. I am pretty sure that I have offically pissed of my stock TQ. I guess it was to be expected. Does anyone know slipping my TQ a little with cause any subsequent problems with the tranny...like contamination from the clutch slipping, things like that?
